Don’t Talk About Your Personal Life In An Interview

By Jennifer Schoennagel

That pretty much says it all – just don’t do it.  The employer is not allowed to ask you those questions and it isn’t any of their business anyway.   Focus on your professional track record and keep it all business – you aren’t friends and you shouldn’t act as though you are at this stage of the game.

Talking about your personal life in the office can be a good move to bond with your teammates (as long as you aren’t sharing something inappropriate or too personal).   Even that I would encourage you to be conservative with…we have all worked with someone that shared a little too much.  Enough said.
